Upcoming Event: Advancing Stroke Care through Digital Twin Innovation and International Collaboration

4–11 November 2026 | Hanoi, Vietnam – Yogyakarta & Jakarta, Indonesia

The Digital Twin Network for Stroke Care is pleased to announce an upcoming series of international academic exchanges, hospital visits, and collaborative activities across Vietnam and Indonesia from 4 to 11 November 2026. The programme will bring together researchers, clinicians, and healthcare innovators from the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Indonesia to strengthen international partnerships and explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies in advancing stroke care.

The programme will feature Prof. Huan X. Nguyen from the London Digital Twin Research Centre, Middlesex University London; Prof. Arjune Sen, Professor of Global Epilepsy at the University of Oxford; and Dr. Cong Minh Tran, a biomedical engineering and global health innovation researcher at the University of Oxford.

Hanoi, Vietnam | 4–7 November 2026

The programme will begin in Hanoi with academic and clinical exchanges involving Vietnamese healthcare institutions and research partners. Key activities include a visit to Bach Mai Hospital, joint lectures at VinUniversity, and networking discussions to explore opportunities for research collaboration and digital healthcare innovation.

Yogyakarta, Indonesia | 8–10 November 2026

The delegation will continue to Yogyakarta to participate in the Visiting Professor Program: Transforming Post-Stroke Care in Indonesia, hosted by the Department of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FK-KMK UGM).

On 9 November, guest lectures will explore international experiences in post-stroke care, alongside the potential applications of AI and digital twin technologies in data-driven healthcare.

A major highlight will be the official kick-off of the Living Lab for Healthcare Service Innovation at UGM Academic Hospital (RSA UGM). The initiative aims to establish a collaborative environment where clinicians, researchers, and technology experts can jointly develop, test, and evaluate healthcare innovations. Stroke care will be explored as one of the initial use cases for digital twin development.

The visit will also include clinical discussions and site visits focusing on stroke care, epilepsy, and the integration of digital technologies into healthcare services.

Jakarta, Indonesia | 11 November 2026

The programme will conclude with a study visit to the National Brain Center Hospital (RS PON) in Jakarta. Discussions will focus on stroke and epilepsy services, healthcare digitalisation, clinical data management, and potential opportunities for collaborative research and innovation.

Strengthening International Partnerships for the Future of Stroke Care

Building on previous collaborations and research activities across the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Indonesia, this programme marks another step towards connecting academic research, clinical practice, and digital health innovation.

Through knowledge exchange, institutional engagement, and exploration of real-world clinical needs, the Digital Twin Network for Stroke Care aims to strengthen the foundations for future collaborative research and the development of data-driven, predictive, and patient-centred approaches to stroke management.

Stay tuned for updates from this international programme as we continue working together to shape the future of stroke care through digital innovation.
